I am Rumil, an elf and Marchwarden of Lothlorien. I am the youngest of three brothers, both of whom are also protectors of the Golden Wood. I speak little Common Tongue, but I am trying to learn more.

Today I met Miss Goldberry, the River Daughter. She seemed very much like me in how much we both love the Golden Wood. She gave me a very lovely water lily, which I shall press so that I may keep it forever. I think Miss Goldberry is the first person I’ve ever met that knew my name before I gave it! She even remembered me from the times that she’d seen me before in the woods!

Maybe one day I will have the pleasure of seeing her home. That would be nice, I think.

You know, if I ever were to have a sister, I would hope that she would be like Miss Goldberry.

I hope that I will see her again soon.
